Cephalotaxus
shrub of the family Cephalotaxeae

Cephalotaxus Origin: China.
Species: Cephalotaxus fortunei and C. harringtonia.
Height: shrub of 6 m tall.
Persistent foliage. Longer needles on the fortunei (5 cm) than on the harringtonia, flexible, light green, broader than those of the yew tree to which this shrub resemble.
Flowers appearing under leaves, in April-May.
3 cm fruits, first green in September, brown in maturity.
Use: decorative garden shrub.
