Magnolia hypoleuca

Origin: forests of Japan (Hokkaido, Ryukyu), the most Nordic species.
Size: it is a big tree that can attain 30 m in its natural habitat.
Flowers: appearing in June-July, creamy white, from 15 to 20 cm in diameters, very sweet-scented (heady fragrance).
Hybridization: with sieboldii, it gave Magnolia wiesneri with extravagant fragrance.
